This week some of my favourite items range from strange little
soft toys, odd but very good movies, original clothing designs
and yummy food that is also great for you. Come and have a
look and hopefully you will be inspired.
And here is the rest of it.
You may have heard of the name Christian Joy before, if not, don't
worry. Christian Joy is the fabulous designer who created all of
the bright eccentric outfits for Yeah Yeah Yeah's singer Karen O.
You will be happy to know that the talented Christian Joy has now
released a new collection, FALL 08! YAY! This collection is made up
of reds, whites, silvers, black and all in a sort of vintage 80s
circus feel. One thing for sure is that you will never look like
an average joe in one of these outfits.
Wear: Fall 08
Red Wolves is a shoe company from London. Amongst their influences
there are some fantastic bands like the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and the
kills. Red Wolves definitely have this London rock'n'roll look to
their shoes and I could picture many rockstars in a pair. Their
styles are bold colours like red and gold, big shiny buckles,
pointy toes and lots of straps. These shoes are very cool and I
would love to go to my next music concert wearing a hot pair.
Look: Red Wolves
Katherine Pont was an Illustrator, now she is a very talented
fashion designer hailing from the United Kingdom. Her clothing
is cute and folky, light brown, cute classic patterns and ribbons
make up her very charming collection. Katherine was born in
Sydney, Australia and recently showed her collection at Fashion
Week. She is now living in London and has been there for 7 years,
completing her art degree.

I am a nerd when it comes to food, I get addicted to certain types
of yummy food and then I eat it non stop. At the moment I am
obsessed with Sweet Potato or Yam as it is commonly called in
America. It is tasty, easy to make (put it in the oven), fast to make
(30mins), filling, cheap to buy and healthy for you. Sweet potato is
high in vitamin A and C and is a complex carbohydrate (it keeps you
full for longer). I also hear that Oprah is a huge fan ;)
Eat: Sweet Potato Chips
The other day I was reading a blog who mentioned this fantastic
designer Mimi Kirchner. Since seeing these dolls, I have been
obsessed with them. They are like quirky little artworks made into
a 3d soft form. The cute little dolls take on characters such as
pirates, circus men, old English ladies, robots and much more. They
would definitely add life and conversation to any room

The Savages is definitely one of the better movies that I have
seen this year. Starring Laura Linney and the always entertaining
Philip Seymour Hoffman, this film is strange and entertaining. The
story is a black comedy based around a brother and sister who's
father is dying. In the film they have to deal with getting their dying
father to a nursing home, there is a lot of comedy since everyone
also has to deal with the fact that they have drifted apart emotionally.
This film is happy, sad and amazingly well acted.

ICON/ Kate Moss
There is something about Kate Moss' personal style that makes
me excited every time I see a new candid photo. Maybe it is
because he style is so accessible, maybe it is because she has
a touch of that rock'n'roll look or maybe it is because her style
is so simple but hot. Whatever the reason, I find her personal
style very inspiring, so come and take a look at some of her outfits.
And here is the rest of it.

Get that look is all about finding a fashion shoot that I really love,
and replicating that usually VERY expensive and hard to get clothing,
and finding similar, cheaper items that you can get online, so that
you can replicate the look that you love.

STYLE/ My Favourite Things
This week I list some of the things that I love in my life, this ranges
from quirky books by cult authors, original and cool designs by a lot
of Australian designers and awesome music by one of my all time
favourite bands. Come in and check out who I am talking about
And here is the rest of it.
Bassike create beautiful, simple and very comfortable elegant
clothing. They focus on the basics like pants, t shirts and
jumpers. They use organic cotton, so items like the t shirt
above feel so smooth and soft against your skin, it is a pleasure
to wear. This t shirt is one of my favorite items at the moment
becuase it goes with so many items, for all types of occasions.
You can wear it casually with a pair of jeans or at night with
a skirt. It reminds me of clothing Kate Moss would wear.
Shop: Bassike
These are some of the coolest sunglasses from Australia that I
have ever seen. They are made by Graz Mulchay, who was the
designer for Ksubi sunglasses. This particular pair are hand
made from acetate gradient nylon lenses and they look like a lot
of love and effort went into the creation. There are a couple
more styles to look at on the website so be sure to take a look.

If you haven't seen the new collection Kate Moss has created for
British store Top Shop, I think you will be pleasantly surprised.
This collection is cute, flirty, feminine with that touch of rock
and roll. There are lots of dresses, which is great, because I am
a big lover of dresses. There are florals, bright reds, baby blues,
frills, denim, ruffled blouses and much more Kate Moss style items.

One of my favourite Australian labels ChipChop has a brand new bag,
and it is just as cute as its previous relatives. This new addition
to the family is a black denim tote with the cute phrase 'it's in le
bag' there is also 'keep it surreal'. They are limited edition and
have a zip pocket and stud like the previous designs. I am in love
with my other Chip Chop! bag, but I think I may need to expand.
Buy: Chip Chop!
If you love reading really quirky modern books, then I have to
recommend that you read 'Survivor' by Chuck Palahnuik. You may
have heard this authors name before, he is the very talented and
slightly disturbed man who wrote 'Fight Club'. The book I first
mentioned follows the life of a young man, who escapes from a very
strict religious cult and tries to deal with his life in a modern
American city. When the members of his cult commit suicide, the
main character Tender Brason suddenly becomes famous. Things of
course head in a downward and crazy spiral. This book is a great
read, very entertaining and one of my all time favourites.
Shop: Survivor - Chuck Palahnuik
One of my favourite bands of all time is a band called Whilrwind
heat. Their first album was produced by Jack White (the white
stripes), although, they sound nothing alike. Whirlwind Heat sounds
like a mix between methodical electronic beats, pop tunes, racy
lyrics, drums, guitar, keyboad, syth, california... and I could
probably go on. They are funky, fun, exciting and great band to
see live if you get the chance. Oh and not to mention, they got
their press shots done by the all time photo god Terry Richardson

You all know Terry Richardson right? The photographer who likes
to photograph skimpy hot models nude or in seductive poses? Well
he has a gorgeous girlfriend called Jen Brill and she is a very stylish
lady. Here is a little look into her sense of style. I will post more of
